Some would say it started with a dream.  But really, it started with an idea.  I just felt  certain there was a better way to teach children to become dancers & performers.  What  seems just like a few years ago, I planted the seed for a dance studio that would provide area children with opportunities beyond their weekly dance class.  I wanted to open up the world of dance beyond the studio door.   I wanted to bring professional, cutting edge dance technique instruction, and all the opportunities that encompasses it to our community. 

 And so the seed was planted, nurtured and it grew.  Sure enough my vision proved accurate.  Twenty five years later our bountiful offerings include classes in jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, lyrical, Kinderdance, modern, hip hop, ballroom, and musical theater in addition to an International Award winning competition team, a non-profit dance company, three scholarship programs, and the honor of the only dance studio in Maryland to represent our state for nine consecutive years as its' official state ambassadors.   D'Ann Danse Studios is the only studio on the shore with a  certified dance faculty accredited to teach dance augmented by renown master dance instructors from across the country and recognized by the Foundation for the Performing Arts. In 25 years we are the only studio in the area who can boast having trained dancers who are actively engaged in all areas of the performing arts including entertaining on Broadway, in International tours, for television, movies, industrials, and stage management.   In addition, DDS, Inc. has been featured in four national dance periodicals.

 D'Ann Danse Studios is the only dance school in the area producing both professional   winter and spring dance concerts complete with full stage sets, lighting, costuming, special effects, and professional touring dance floor. Participating in these Broadway caliber productions provides our dancers with a memory they'll never forget. Recently, we redecorated our classrooms, lobby, and student lounge with a bright, energizing south beach theme to compliment our updated state-of-the-art facilities.  As the largest educational dance facility on the shore, we   provide the only floating dance floor in the area, Marley dance floor, professional theater style surround sound system for education instruction and concert productions, digital video recording equipment, and new this summer … televised classroom viewing system so parents can watch their dancers in class without disrupting their continuing dance education!  And there are more fun, fresh offerings on the way.  From season to season, we'll continue to add more special events, more in house merchandise, and more new fresh ideas to keep our dancers motivated in class and parents relaxed in our lobby.

 Your garden is blooming too.  All across the Delmarva Peninsula, families are enjoying the fruits of our unique studio format.  Parents love our age appropriate choreography, costuming, and level of professional dance technique their children are learning.   Students and parents like the convenience of shopping in house for their dancewear needs and the professional dance    programs we offer.   Parents have expressed that the discipline, respect, and self-esteem that our dancers have learned from participating in our programs has given their children the self-confidence to stand in front of an audience to give a speech, class demonstration, or try out for other group activities.

 This year you'll see more innovative improvements in both our dance instruction and our operations.  We're adding more new and exciting programs and products all the time, expanding both the breath and depth of our offerings so that we can meet more of your dance education and customer service needs.   Computerized customer accounting, frequent buyer discount program, and studio e-mail address for on-line reminders are just a few of the changes coming this fall.
